Frequently Asked Questions

A vector's has the capability to be scaled (up or down) without losing resolution and quality. In addition to being scalable, vector images are easily editable. On the other hand, a raster images (i.e., jpeg, png, tiff) are made of tiny pixels and their resolution and quality is limited to the quantity of pixels that the original file has which means that if a small image is enlarged to be printed on o wide format printer, it would get pixilated and blurry.
Even if the artwork is provided, we have time allocated to set up the print and size appropriately. We always double-check the artwork to make sure it will be a good-quality image. We also have to set up the files to print onto the correct material. All of this takes time.
Your lease agreement will usually detail the type and size of sign you are allowed. We can help you with reviewing the requirements and designing a sign that will be approved by your management.
Lettering size is based on the space available and the distance to be viewed. We have charts that show what letter sizing is readable at certain distances and we’d be more than happy to supply that upon request.
That is a tough question as it depends on what kind of sign it is. A banner can be printed within 2 days of proof approval. Building signs such as channel letters, light boxes, dimensional letters and awnings, need city permits and this can take 2 -3 weeks to receive approval. After approval, the fabrication can take 2 to 3 weeks. A large part of the time to make a sign is in the approval process. We will not print or fabricate a sign until we have approval from the customer.
The easy answer is, No. We can make banners to fit all areas and sizes required. However, we do have some common banner sizes that we sell, like an (2ft x 8ft), (2ft x 10ft). Chat with your sign expert about what you are trying to accomplish with your banner and we will get you the perfect size for your need.
If your file is 5GB or under you can upload up to 3 of them on our Artwork Upload form here. However, for larger files you will have to send us a link to an FTP website where you already uploaded the files. Common FTP sites are Google Drive, One Drive by Microsoft Office, Dropbox, Box.com, FileZilla, CoffeeCup, etc.
It takes a lot of chemicals and elbow grease to remove old vinyl. Especially if it’s been baked on over the years by the sun. The labor in removing the vinyl would be more expensive than the cost of a new sign face.
For large format printing, we need the logo in vector file (AI or EPS). If the logo is not vector, it would get pixilated and blurry. In those cases, where the logo is not available in vector file, we will be able to do the recreation of the logo for an additional charge.
Yes, we offer safety signs in accordance with OHS regulations. We make them with high-contrast colours so that they are easily visible even in low-light settings.
